Chocolat fondant

Ingredients (10 servings):

  • 6 eggs
  • 180g sugar
  • 170g butter plus a bit extra for the moulds (GF)
  • 180g dark chocolate (GF)
  • 40g corn flour (GF)
  • 30g potato starch (GF)
  • 30g cocoa (GF)

Scenario:

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Prepare the moulds by spreading some butter inside and dusting with cocoa. Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a bowl, together with butter. Place the bowl over a pan of simmering water, melt and mix well. Remove from the heat and allow to cool. In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy. Slowly add melted chocolate and then fold in the flour. Fill the moulds to the ¾ mark with the chocolate mix. Bake in the oven for about 8-12 minutes (should be runny in the middle).

Dark chocolate contains antioxidants, and eating it can help prevent from cancer and heart disease. In fact, dark chocolate contains more antioxidants than most fruits. Dark chocolate health benefits even extend to lowering cholesterol. It can reduce the bad type of cholesterol, referred to as LDL, by as much as 10 percent.

GF – make sure the ingredient doesn’t contain traces of gluten!
