Roasted chestnuts with cinnamon honey

IMG_1458xsIngredients (2servings):

  • 12 chestnuts, washed
  • 4 tablespoons good quality honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (GF)

Scenario:

Preheat oven to 200ºC. Cut the chestnut shells using a small, sharp knife – make a criss-cross cut into each chestnut. It helps release steam and prevents the nut exploding while cooking. Arrange the prepared chestnuts onto a baking tray (cut side up) and roast them 15 minutes. Cool them slightly and remove the peel. In a bowl combine cinnamon and honey and pour over the chestnuts. Serve.

GF – make sure the ingredient doesn’t contain traces of gluten!
