Homemade Cherry Liqueur

Homemade Cherry LiqueurIngredients (3bottles):

  • 1½kg pitted cherries (if frozen- thaw it first)
  • 500g Muscovado sugar
  • 300ml rectified spirit
  • 200ml vodka

Scenario:

Place the pitted cherries in a big jar. Add 300g of sugar and stir gently. Then add the rectified spirit and vodka and close it tightly. Put the jar in a dark, cool place for 10 days, shaking it gently every day.

After 10 days pour the created liqueur into bottles and put them in a dark place again. Add the remaining sugar to the rest of the cherries, close tightly and set aside for another 7 days. Shake gently every day.

After a week, pour the new liqueur, using a strainer, into the previously prepared part – combine them together and stir carefully. Pour the liqueur into the bottles again and close tightly.

You can serve it immediately or wait for it to ripen.
