While visiting the Vitasana exposition in Brussels, I found a very interesting stand, offering various nuts and seeds spreads – Monki by Horizon Natuurvoeding BV.
In my previous article, I wrote about the health benefits from eating peanut butter, but I also mentioned that there is much more than just peanut butter! What I didn’t say though, is where you can buy them and how much choice you actually have. Well, that’s going to change.
As we can read on their website: „Monki organic nut butters are produced by Horizon Natuurvoeding BV, a company which was established in 1978. Horizon specializes in the manufacture of nut butters and is an importer and wholesaler of nuts, dried fruits and seeds. Besides serving the significant Dutch home market, Horizon exports to many European countries”.
Monki offers a huge range of spreads: almond butter, blanched almond butter, cashew nut butter, white cashew nut butter, hazelnut butter, hazelnut and almond butter, hazelnut and raisin butter, peanut butter, peanut butter crunchy, peanut and raisin butter, pumpkin seed butter, tahini with salt, tahini unsalted, white tahini and sunflower spread. Now, that’s a lot to choose from!
I had a chance to taste some of them and I must say they are delicious! What’s best about these spreads though, in my opinion, is that they don’t contain anything that shouldn’t be there – it’s all pure, natural ingredients. Something that’s very hard to find these days…
I am also very happy to add that none of their spreads contains gluten- therefore they are safe for all those of you on a gluten-free diet!
On the left you’ll find the manufacturer’s table with all the ingredients and all the nutritional values of each of the spreads.
And here are some online stores where you can find their products:
I highly recommend for the great taste and great quality! Enjoy!
Wooaw! Seriously.. thank you for starting this up. This website
is one thing that’s needed on the web, someone with a bit of originality!
I love their products!
Thanks for such an informative blog.
I love their spreads, good to know they’re so healthy!
Found Monki tahini in a local health food store but couldn’t ascertain whether it was gluten free – thanks for clearing this up for me!
I’m happy this could help!
